I think most of us are guilty of it.  You enter the arena and the numbers are close. Before long the enemy disappears. Before you lays a map, with bases itching to be taken. Most times the itch is scratched if only because you are there..and they arent.

Now..lets drop it and see whats up with the map we will be using.

Well with the old AVA

Milking the bases in the old AVA would screw up the map and plane sets up, making the map unplayable.  There were no “perkies” in the old AVA.  So I have never understood the milking of bases.
The current mini MA, (new setup for AVA? or the next step to the Combat theater)which I really hate, doesn't do this mainly because of the design of the current map.
The momentum swings back and forth, but base running in the off hours when the arena is empty, come on, if you want perkies stay in the MA.  JG54 number one ranking in base capture is done in prime time. Just one of us was lucky enough to bring in the last load of troops.
JG54, we don’t pay attention to our scores, or rankings. I couldn’t tell you where I’m ranked or where the others are ranked. We just play the game.

Mister Fork
Filth
Chapel........

I enjoy the game and this AvA scenario is awesome:)

I play the game to fight with fighters and the odd time I will assist with C47's or Bombers....
Base captures, winning the war is not really a concern for us(Canadian Eagles) BUT we can't deny being happy when we succesfully capture or win a round...

Now I'm reading all these rules about WHEN we can capture and WHEN we shouldn't capture...
I work shift rotation.(nightshift and dayshift)
My days off, I fly in AvA(E/T) when there's a only 3 of us in there !

Now I'm afraid/confused on doin' a "deack or bombing" run and being accused of milking or capturing an undefended base ???
If this happens guys, I guarantee you that was not my intentions to break the rules !

On another note, WHY USING THE SCOREBOARD ?
Ranks and scores makes players do stupid things and say bad things and it "snowballs" from there ! Just because he got shot down and it affected his scores, the SMACK talking errupts and it goes downhill:furious

Anyway ! Congrats and keep up the good work !

hello Phil,

I agree with the score thing that you said but if you look you will see that the AvA has more players on at US prime time than the mid and early wars combined.

this is a clear statement by the playing field that inspite of the limitations they prefer to have an objective that is achievable and will be somehow rewarded if obtained.  the staff has hit upon a formula that works.

there will be downsides though and it becomes immediately obvious that the 1v1 will not be respected, you will be HO'd often repeatedly, you will be vultched and you will be taunted.  even some of our very skilled 200 typists were given a run for the money last night by the prepubscent MAlings who are much better keyboard warriors than they are in a spit with a 10k advantaqe.

as of today I will be de tuning 200 the game will improve flavor for me and for everyone else as well.

the change is a good one, speaking for myself I hope it will continue.  this map is a beauty but it is not really condusive to good fights and yet there were some great fights in the arena.

to all

Don't quote me on this, because it may not be 100% accurate, but as I understand it...

As long as there are "Similar" numbers on each side, then it's not considered milkrunning. Because strats are not working correctly on this map, fields are fair game as long as there is sufficient numbers.

I wouldn't go dropping in hordes of troops. But I see no reason why you can't attack a field, de-ack it, blow up structures, and even attack the planes defending. Just make sure it's not a 5 vs 1 type deal.

If the Axis have 5 players, and the allies have 5 players, and the allied pilots are organized and working togeather. And just 1 axis pilot is defending the base you chose, and those other 4 are just off someplace else (probably attacking an undefended base as well) then I see no reason why that isn't legitamate.

The italy map is SOOOOooooo much larger, that I don't see it having the same issues that the earlier two rounds propagated.

It seems AvA is turning into battle of egos just as much as MA

I'm one of those ''piglets'' but each time I've been there, I have seen squads fighting for fun rather then 'milkrunning'

So in short, I'm staying out of the battle of egos on this one
