105th Panzer Brigade Panther
« on: February 05, 2012, 02:20:55 PM »
This is my skin of a 105th Panzer Brigade Panther. I picked it because it has an unusual colour scheme of mottled green outlined in red brown. This was one of a pair of Panthers that encountered US forces near Eynatten in Belgium on 12th September 1944. One of the Panthers broke down and the other was knocked out by an anti tank gun.

One photo of this and a second photo of either this or possibly the second tank can be seen at the following links:-

Why don't my tanks blend into the background that well?

Nice job Greebo!

I hope you continue to do skins especially the Panther - this skin is simply fantastic - I always loved the "experimental" type skins.
If I could ever get you to look at some skins I have one I would love to see being added :)

Code "209" of Panzer Division 'Feldherrnhalle 2" - it was made olive green due to the shortage of the dark yellow paint.

Great work! It is always nice to see more Panther skins be added.  I'd like to see more Panzer IV skins in the mix.    ;)

Thanks guys, glad you like it.

It is likely I am going to be busy with HTC stuff for a while, so any other skinning will have to wait until that is done. I'll certainly be doing other GV skins at some point though, as well as adding bump maps to some of my existing ones.

The Feldherrnhalle 2 Panther is one I have considered before as it is quite different to the other Panthers I have done and would suit the MA well. However I have yet to find a decent photo of it. There is a profile in a Kagero Panther book and a couple of close up photos on the web of the front and back of either that or a similar Panther. Ideally though, I'd like a good photo of the overall tank showing the side of the turret.

I understand, the only photos I have are the side hull, which doesn't offer a very good shot :(
Here's an interesting site that offers quite a few plates.
