Sound volume wont turn down

some of the sounds , like the vehicle external engine wont adjust down.  I may have the wrong sound adjustment in mind.  but when im setting by another vehicle and they have there engine on, its loud and I cant seem to adjust its volume down?  

I have a sb audigy2zs ,  anyone have any ideas?

i have the same problem... can't
turn down external v-engines.
move the slider but sound doesn't go down.

seem to be able to turn most other sounds down.

well tatic i found it:

try turning down external track.
has the same filename (veng) as
external vehicle engine.

worked for me.
