You'll find one in the Custom Sounds Forum.  Some are full sound packages, some are only sounds for individual items.  I started with Mitzu's sounds back in the dark ages, and have morphed and added to it over the years.  I'm currently using a hodge-podge mix of sounds.

It's up to you to pick one.  Preferences vary.  You'll only know if you like it by trying it out.  I'm on 28K dial-up, and they take me many hours to download.  I don't do that very often...

Pick one.  Download it.  It'll probably be "zipped", so unzip it.  I do this in "My Documents".  Rename the folder as "sounds".  That's very important.  AH will only recognize a sounds folder if it is named "sounds".  Leave it in "My Documents" for now.

Find your AH folder.  The path to find mine is- My Computer- Local Disk "C"- Program files- HTC- Aces High II.  Open Aces High II, and look for the folder named "sounds".  !!BEFORE!! you move the new sounds folder into your AH folder, re-name the original folder to something else.  I renamed mine "sounds1".  If you replace the original, it will be gone forever, so don't replace it, rename it...

As soon as it is renamed AH will no longer recognize it, and you've effectively removed all sounds from the game (except vox? maybe?).

Now you can leave that folder in your AH folder, and if you ever want the default sounds back you'll have them (by renaming them "sounds" again).

Now, go back to your new sounds folder, and move it into the Aces High II folder.  You'll be moving one big folder around, full of smaller folders.  Don't try to move the individual effects or aircraft files or folders around.

The new "sounds" folder will be recognized by AH as the one to use.

I'm a tictok fan myself, but then he's a squadmate.  :)

There is a lot of Mitsu's in tictoks, but he's really done some very nice work with engines. Before that I ran Mitsu's for years.

im using the one on spatula's website cant remeber the name but its the airborne kitchen utensils website.
its really nice i havent found but a few sounds in ah that are not in that pack.
engine sound takes getting used to as its hard in some planes to distinguish wep from full milt power by the sound .
and the hit sounds sound like actual hits not ricochets. great sounds all around.
and if you have 5.1 suround with a bass speaker just dont have the volume too loud when you  fly over a carrier the ack sound will blow out your eardrums lol.

i will say that i havent seen it mentioned but if you do go to a sound pack you will go through a wierd relearning your audible clues phase.
cause a lot of the sounds you use (subconsiously or consiously) will change and it will just "feel" weird.

ill aslo say that if your low on total memory and using a internal sound card that it may hurt your computers performance to change sounds as the files are LARGE and loading time will impede your processor from doing other things.

i.e i couldnt use anything but default sounds until i added memory to my computer, im still on internal sound card but my performance is good enough that i dont havge frame rate stutters and freezing when sounds are played.

corection i think the pack i use is one of fruda's but its a total pack for everything.

I'm going to have to fix my sounds. I got a sound card (does that sound right? I'm not sure what I'm talking about) in my computer that hosed everything up. I didn't think that should have adjusted the sound pack, but it did.

In the past, I could hear planes approaching from 2+K (from gv).  Now, I hear a slight tick when they get under 600, and only hear the plane engine itself after the plane has past (if I'm not dead by then).

Installation of sound cards aren't supposed to hose up the sound packs, are they? At any rate. Not really looking for any responses there. Just complaining.;)

I have all of Fruda's sound pack mixed with Rangers. Only one of Fruda's I replaced was the spit XVI, and I don't remember why.

I deleted a couple of the sounds from Rangers that i couldn't get use to. Like the damage sounds to my AC but all the aircraft and vehicle sounds are badprettythang.

Had no idea about Tictoks! I am a huge fan of mitsu's, and can't wait to listen to some of Tictoks and see if it improves upon it. Downloading it now, cant wait.

Just download all of them, then pick and choose which sounds you want.  There is some good stuff in there.
