What I like about 200, is that sometimes I am warping/having connection problems and the opposing plane calls it out, even though from my perspective I am good to go, so I check with a friendly and if they indicate that indeed I am warping then I land and relog.

Just the other night I was part of a strike inbound and an enemy fighter, who had shot down a friendly, on 200 asked him to let me know (or the 190) that I was warping, i got on 200 and talked to the one who indicated the problem and told them, if the broke off, I would return to base and relog, the pilot said no problem, broke off and I landed and relogged.

Otherwise I tend to ignore it and only squelch those who are spilling torrents of mindless dribble.

I don't have any problem whatsoever with CH 200.  After all, you have to be here for a while to get "in the know" enough to even know it exists. And you have to tune it to receive it in the first place, and can just as easily detune it.  It's kind of like the O'Club off-topic forum - you know your wading into a cesspool when you open it, so if that's going to bother you, then don't.

What I'd much rather see changed is that there is no option for players to decline cross-country pm's or voice. If there was ever a time when I would have quit AH, it was after just starting to fly here and ending up on the receiving end of a couple of those.   I'd MUCH rather see that receive attention (probably arena based, so that trainers can pm clueless noobs in the TA regardless).

Oh, and a way to detune country would add some blessed peace and quiet at times, too.

There's no conversation if you don't tune to it. Therefore no price to pay. And you can easily talk to others via a PM or "Range".

Complaining about ch200 is like being in a bar, listening in to conversations around you, inject yourself in those conversations, telling people to change the subject if you don't like it, tell them to shut up, or get into a verbal fight with them.

You know, like everyone would do in real life.  You should try it some time.  It really works.  Walk into a bar, inject yourself in a conversation, and then shout at them "STFU you dweeb.  I own you.  All see you out side in 2 minutes (err DA)"

Please come back and post the results of that experiment:D

guess the old if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around does it make a noise?

what if you enjoy speaking with others, but dislike listening to the banter? then conversations that you would like to be in on, are now not available...it doesn't mean they are not happening, it just means you are no longer involved.   It's like watching tv without a dvr.  If you like a show, but dislike the commercials, ya I guess by turning the tube off you miss the commercials....does that mean the show never played?  Just doesn't seem rational to me.

That said, I think if you don't like 200 you shouldn't tune to it, but I can see why some people who don't like 200, would tune to it, and why they would have an issue.

Pluck:

I know what you mean, but there are no "conversation previews" as to what will be happening on 200. You only know from having tuned to 200 if anything funny will occur. Thus if you don't tune to it, you're not missing anything.
