DA furball lake....
« Reply #75 on: February 05, 2008, 04:17:24 AM »
yea, last time I went this guy was flying aronud at 20k bnzing in a zero.. would not fight unless he started with alt adv. very sad, it's not like it was his first sortie.

I can understand the dweebs who just installed the game. Least they come at you and don't run away unless they're in a superior turning plane with all sorts of advantages.
As soon as I take off I dive hard to the deck.. I thnk that was the whole point of it, yet I see people who just autoclimb up to 20k.. WHY? get the fk down n furball. theres elevated alt so you can get into the fights quick I thought...

True!

Good defensive flying yesterday Lusche.  We were giving you the old 190 treatment and Gab was in a Yak.   You must have near ran out of fuel in the spit 16 and I finished you off.

We did a good job of holding the line over your Rook field until that CV got too close.

Yup, I was dry so I had to land... when some weak skill-less 190 dweeb picked me off.
Typical boring BnZ game that lame 190 pilots are known for :D
(Sorry that I didn't whine on CH200 as  proper AH etiquette demands ;))

But seriously, you did play your strengths well. I was constantly trying negate to your alt/E advantage, but any given time there was at least one of you  still higher and coming in on my six...:furious :aok

Just for the record, just because you do not "hear" someone does not mean they do not have an ego the size of texas, on the contrary, it sometimes is the reason they will not come down and play!

For myself, if I get a good fight out of someone, I will tell them, if I get nothing but cowardly dweebery, they'll get an ear of it!:aok

More about what I think the proper play for the DA furball should be.

I took this new addition to the DA as a way of meeting up for fights. Before this you had to wait at a field watching the text buffer. When someone came on one had to type endlessly to this person/persons to get there attention to ask for a fight. But most of the time they were meeting someone already. So more waiting. And it was all strictly private fight.

The real advantage to furball lake it there is now a place to find some instant action. A place to make introductions and get into some good fights. From here one can find people to private dual 1v1 if they wish. It has helped get more people in the DA.

But not everyone wants to go to a private field and fight the same person over and over. The furball is the best fo both worlds.

The problem: There is a perception that Furball Lake is a miniature Main Areana where there are no rules of any kind, no etiquett, no honor, no respect, gangbang anybody fest.

I submit to everyone that Furball Lake is located in the DUALING AREANA....(pounds fist on desk and sais it again very louldly) And as such the fights here should have some sort of etiquett. One major rule that should be followed is "respect a 1v1" no matter how many people are there.

The lone enemy dot flying over land is not an invitation for every con in the area to descend upon in salivating gangbanging frenzy. In fact this person is most likely trying to draw a single con over for a good fight.

I say if you want Main Arena action with no rules then go there. But If you come into the DUALING arena please try to have some mannors/respect for the people there looking to engage in fun fights.

I have suggested a simple informal rule: Those who want to multi-con fight (aka "gangbang") do so over the lake. Those who are looking for 1v1 or 2v1 type of fights do so over the land. So if you see a dot or two avoiding the lake or already engaged over land leave them alone until there is a winner. If they are not engaged then by all means fight.

If you are looking to furball it up in a zeek or spit then go to the center of the lake and have fun. Those over the lake are fair game.

Those over the land are not wanting to get picked. They are looking for some quality fights and fun.

We have so many areana's. Two MA's, AVA, and a few more. I just can't understand why we have to treat the DA furball the same way as the MA.

I never played the free H2H. But i would pay to have a private room where I could have moderator control and give out passwords. If I had this we would have a quality DA furball in no time.

But alas it is not to be so. And I am afraid no matter what I say, or you say or anybody sais Furball Lake will continue to be infested with children who only want to cause trouble and "counter strike bunny hop" around blocking spawn doors and the like.

Well said agent; and the first part is why I came to the DA and spend almost 100% of my time there, but now I barely go there at all because of what it has become (and you pretty much described it acurately).  I log in and if I see double digits in there I just skip over it.

But then again, who could take a 109 dweeb seriously?:aok

well when i take off i usualy will climb to at least 10 k cause most everyone else does. + my plane performes a little better when i have time to build up some e to start with.
lol bout the only time ill end up over 12k is if i go afk for a min to use the bathroom or get a drink.

had a little fun in there yesterday climbed up to 12k in a jug got in a great turning fight with a pony, only reason i won is i made him overshoot and he made the msitake of slowing down enough so i could follow him up.

da can be fun ive met some good folks in there and 1v1 ed a few of them,
other than that even though it gets anoying getting picked all the time, ive improved sa to where i can actualy avoid the bnz guy for quite a while, or i can handle a 2on1 when i keep my e superior and make them blow theirs.

but id say da is much nicer place when 10-15 players are on.
yes i ocasionaly take up a tempest lol its fun to be the picker for a change sometiems. (i also like that i can push my luck with it without loosing perks)
but i regularly fly the p47 nik and spit 8 mostly.

Have to agree with you Agent, human nature will again prevent a good set of engagement rules in there. Been back in the game a few weeks , and the furball area has been a good place to get some flying/gunnery practice etc ,  but quality fights are about as rare as in the MA. Had some luck skirting the edges and bumping into some good fights , but anywhere near the middle is a cherry-pick fest ( usualy the same names - I could list the flying styles of the usual suspects in there)
I come from a land downunder
