Logitech 3d or Saitek and like 40-50 bucks which one would u suggest?

Saitek hands down.

Logitech has had nothing but problems past the 3 month mark. Every single person I've talked to that bought Logitech ends up asking what to switch to.
(There are a few lucky owners of older logitech gear that have good sticks.)

St-290, Cyborg, Aviator, all reasonably priced sticks good enough to fly with for a year or 2.

I've had a Logitech and an X52 that I purchased at roughly the same time, about 3 years ago. (right after the X52 came out, whenever that was.

The Logitech is hands down the best stick I've ever owned. I don't even use the X52.

Aside from the above comments, I have never heard a good thing about the 3D...... That's the $15 one right? I have that one, it lasted about 2 or 3 months before the axes started to loosen up. Nowadays it's my travel Stick and usually need to recalibrate it before every sortie.

STRIKE THAT....... the 3D is the better version, I have no input other then knowing my CO loves his X52.

Logitec has very big problems in their potentiometers. They wear out very quickly; like Ghosth said, usually useless after three months.

And I like the x52 pro. (Sure took a long time to get set up though)

I don't remember how much it cost. Mine is the Logitech Exreme 3D Pro.

I went through 3 logitech 3D sticks inside of a year. They are without a doubt the crappiest and least reliable stick I have ever had. I went to a saitek Evo after that and it served me in good stead. I use a saitek X45 now, but the Evo is still serviceable and is my back-up.

No problems with the X45 yet either (going on a year and a half now), although I found the spring tension too stiff on the stick from the get-go and adjusted it so it's looser.

If budget is a concern, I would go with the saitek Evo. $35 or so.

When the Logitech sticks work, they are by far my favorite. That said, the longest I've ever had one stay functional was six months. Saitek ST290 has been with me for about 14 months and is still ticking (BUT, if Logitech ever puts out a decent stick again it is SOOOOOOO gone).

~500h on my Logitech 3D Pro and 1 button on the base has gone (coffee ping - just needs a clean). They all seem to be spiky on the rudder axis - dial in a big enough deadband and your set. The pots did seem to go rough at 200h but have gone back to working fine now.

Comfortable for my big hands, good weighting on the stick (although throttle is too loose IMO) overall I like it, and they are cheap as chips.

Went through 4 Logitech's now have an X52 for me and my son for 2 years on mine and 2 months on his. Never had to recalibrate except for setting up on my new comp 6 months ago. Profiler doesn't seem to be compatible with Vista, but don't need it really.
