BMW's Router

BMW, since your prior router was so new, and you just replaced it with another new router of a different brand, I would suggest the issue is not the router at all, but Comcast. If you can run the expanded Ping Plotter, and use Aces High as the subject location, you will see where the failures are comming from. It will show the IP addresses and you can use this info to get comcast to fix the network. Request Comcast to place a trap on your line to determine where the failure is(packet loss). They typically run 3 or 4 trucks to your home to replace all connectors, etc.....this usally isn't the problem, just how they do business. The disconnects are probably related to Comcast Field Techs installing VoIP modules on the network. They physically take the node down for a few minutes as they install their hardware. I had issues for 6-8 weeks as Comcast converted Atlanta and the old Adelphia service. I think it would be of no benefit to you to upgrade the router firmware. Good Luck
