To see perk loadouts implimented (some suggested loadouts)
« on: February 06, 2008, 08:10:22 PM »
I would like to see the hinted at perk loadout system implimented in AH.  This would allow rarer options to be added without seeing them used 100% of the time, or being used in a manner that overtly imbalances an aspect of gameplay.

Some loadouts now in the game that I think should be perked:

Already in AH:
1000lb bombs on the P-51D (Extremely rare in WWII)
Four M2 20mm cannon on the F4U-1D (turns it into an F4U-1C)
Three B-20 20mm cannon on the La-7

Not yet in AH, either the loadout or the aircraft:
Four Ho-5 20mm cannon on the Ki-84-Ia (Turns it into a Ki-84-Ib)
Mollins 57mm cannon replacing the four Hispano Mk II 20mm cannons on the Mosquito FB.Mk VI (Turns it into a Mosquito FB.Mk XVIII)
BK-5 50mm cannon on the Me410

Please post additional suggestions for perk loadouts.

Questions I have for other knowledgable people on this forum:

How common were the bombs + rockets loadouts we see in AH?  It is something I use and see used all the time in AH.  P-47s with 2,500lbs of bombs and ten rockets, P-38s with 2,000lbs of bombs and ten rockets, P-51Ds/F5F-5s with 2,000lbs of bombs and eight rockets, F4Us with 2,000lbs of bombs and six rockets, Il-2s with 500kgs of bombs and four rockets and Mosquitoes with 1,000lbs of bombs and eight rockets.
I don't think I've ever read of those combos being used in reality.  Were they?  And if so, how often?

All the funky loadouts for the Il2.  Someone more knowledgeable can probably specify what they were, but some of them would seem really effective on open GVs.

Parafrags for the bombers that had them. I think the 25C used them.

A choice in AP/HE ammo proportions for the planes that had it.

I remember someone posting documentation of the 190F8 carrying a lot more stuff. I had it saved on an HDD that crashed, but if anyone remembers, it was something fom an eastern european source.

R4M rockets for the 262.

Historical 20 troop load for the C47...

Tiny Tim rockets for the F4U and any others that used them...

The 410 sometimes had the gunner position removed altogether.

Hurricane IIb : 12x303 instead of 4x20mm.

Actually the P-51D and F6F has 2,000lbs of bombs and six rockets, the F4U-1D and the F4U-4 are the only ones with 2,000lbs and Eight rockets. The other Corsairs either carry 1000lb bombs or drop tanks, F4U-1C carries 2000lbs of bombs and 4 rockets..

But if i remember reading right, HiTech mentioned awhile ago that there were going to be perked gun packages and such...

Like 4 20mm on the P-51/F6F....

F4U-1D also had a center pylon for a 2000lb bomb or drop tank. This gives a max loadout of:

1x2000lb bomb, 2x1000lb bombs, and 8xHVAR. I've been asking for this loadout configuration for months, not least of which because it gives the 1D an option for  a drop tank to extend range, without sacrificing one of the 1000lbers.

But yes, Tiny Tims!!!

For me any bomb on any thing bigger than 500lb (or 250Kg) should carry some level of perk.

1 perk per 1000lb bomb, 2 perks per 2000lb bomb, 3 perks per "bigger" bomb.

re cannon loadouts

2 perks per extra 20mm cannon above standard issue.
3 perks per extra 30mm cannon above standard issue.
