Its a military weapon.  Our guys and gals do a lot of house to house fighting with insurgents.

Check out the pistol shrimp.  It has a claw snap that is equal in power to a .22 caliber round!

For CQB, Bird Shot is the best.   Just as effective and doesn't go through the drywall as easy.

I wasn't asking the tactical purposes, that's why we have thrown grenades, I was asking why anyone in their right mind would shoot a grenade while in the room.  That's just plain dumb.  Just because our soldiers do a lot of house to house fighting doesn't mean they're going to shoot off some grenades 3 feet away, they have common sense.

Lobbing nades into windows of next building that is 100 yards away.....yeah...no use for it. Much cheaper than LAW or 203.

This quote has my vote for dumbest quotes of 2008. Bird shot doesn't go though anything easily.

Bird shot is a poor, poor, choice. Bird shot, being lighter starts to spread much faster than the tighter packed, heaver, buck shot. Because of this, bird shot is less likely to do much of anything against bad guys in a CQB/CQC environment, except, piss him/her off when you pepper their location with in-effective bird shot. In short bird shot will not do much, but get you killed.

Most CQC/CQB operators choose to go with a low recoil "tactical" double buckshot load. It has a little less power than the standard buck loads. It has less recoil for more controllability, the pattern holds nice and tight, and there isn't much of an over penetration issue if you miss your target. (Yes you can miss with a shotgun. They do not work in real life like they do in Holly Wood.)

Or call the Air Force and drop a 2000lb JDAM so there is no longer a building to clear.

Good, but I ended up selling it. Still holding on to stuff from four years ago? Let it go man..life is too short. It is even shorter when you shoot at bad guys with bird shot.

Sorry, I just utilize what Marines from FAST platoons pass on from experience.

Let what go?   You've always been the one inciting personal attacks ever since you tuned my private vox and started cussing like the "class act" you pretend to be.

You know, sort of like the Glacier Girl thread?  :aok

That isn't at all what I meant, I was talking about being inside a room.  I agree that it's great for things 100 yards away, but was wondering why Shrimp thought someone would fire one of these at something 4 feet away.  I never said it was useless, I think it's great.
