Rust In Peace??????

Egads man.

Kill 'Em All is better by far.  Not to mention Reigning Blood, South Of Heaven, and Seasons In The Abyss.

But then again I never undertsood the bid deal about Megadeth.  Then again Metallica, to me, never recovered after Burton's death.

BTW Mustaine I saw Megadeth in '88 or early '89, can't remember, at The Boathouse in Norfolk, Virginia.  Was right up against the stage in front of Dave.  Took a lot of pics until one of the roadies came up to me and told me to knock it off.

don't be dissin no Rust or Vic is gonna come whomp some arse :furious

Peace Sells is right up there, but Rust defines my true departure for wiggerhood to real life.

Seasons? well 4 maybe 5 truly epic songs, but the rest kind of stinkers.

name 1 stinker on Rust beside those that knock "Dawn Patrol"

Reigning? about the same as Seasons in overall quality, 4-5 AWESOME tunes, the rest could be left out.

Kill 'em?? commone.... let it die in Peace Sells :p

Actually although the mix was horrible I consider ... And Justice their best work overall... any time the 2 guitarists say it killed them, and there is a 9 minute song with the only lyrics are 30 seconds from a dead man has my vote. :aok

oh and yeah I seen them 5 times I recall, closest was on the Countdown tour 9th row. I also have a guitar signed by them, Marty too before he left. :D

I'll call you on that one, although I don't know why I feel compelled to, I guess that's what my parole officer called my "impulse control issue".

Just for the record, it ain't Heavy Metal. I know people call it that, but it ain't.

It's Thrash. A bastard stepchild of Punk, which is NOT Metal. The best 3 Heavy Metal Records were produced before Mustaine or King ever plugged in a guitar.

Easy distinction..... Heavy Metal is extra hard Rock, Thrash/Speed/Death/Hardcore is a metronome having a seizure.

Now I know some may feel we're splitting hairs here but I've shed blood over this issue. As have many who've fallen before me.

BTW, Does any one remember when the term "Heavy Metal" was first associated with a band?

Never heard of the Mentors. I do like some of the bubble-gum boy bands that are out recently though... well, select songs from some of them.

I heard it was Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild.  In reference to the lyrics "Heavy metal thunder"
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

The Mentors were an AWESOME band.  Great lyrical content with deep messages.  Listen closely.

Close enough, same year as where I was going. Although the lyrics are actually a band's reference to thunder not a reference to a band.

I was thinking of Iron Butterfly, but the term has to be a bit older than that.
