New updates going to be a performance hit?
« on: February 15, 2008, 08:57:05 PM »
Even if it is, I'm not worried about making a noticeable impact on my pc.  However, I'm curious if any of these soon to be completed (2 weeks :rofl ) updates will cause some older systems or systems containing hardware not designed for gaming performance some problems.  I'm not sure if these forthcoming vehicles and new planes/s are just redesigned or if they contain more detail or whatever.  I guess looking at the images, they look a little better(La's, Ostwind, new Wirbelwind, P-39, etc).  Curious.

HTC home page "recommended" minimum system specs:
Win XP
2 Ghtz Pentium CPU
1 gig RAM
128 MG Video card memory

I doubt any new planes/vehicles woud outstrip those reuirements.

Adding planes and vehicles doesn't really "add" to the game over all, it just give you more choices. A change in the graphics, or new maps have a bigger over all effect. I'm thinking CT may create a bit of a hit due to all the new things they have going..... or are rumored to be going. The screen shot of the "city" was huge and will be a hit, as well as any "targets" I would think that are going to add for those big missions. All the AI bombers you might have to simulate the big raids I'm sure will cause a hit.
