Can not start AH
« on: February 12, 2008, 10:51:53 PM »
I just had the computer repaired/upgraded.  New motherboard and RAM.  I downloaded AH, but when I try to run it I get the message "AH encountered a problem and has to close".  I tried uninstalling then reinstalling the video and sound.  I also uninstalled AH, twice, and reinstalled it.  Same problem.  What's up with this?  I have emailed the DXDIAG results to the support email address.
Sure hope this is a simple fix.

Typically it is driver related.  I'll know for sure whne I see the DXDIAG output.

AH has to close

Although I can now start AH, I still get an error and AH has encountered a problem and has to close message.  It happens at random times.  I called the folks who worked on my computer last and it seems they uploaded drivers for the wrong video card.  So you Diagnosis was correct.  I suspect something along the same lines for this problem.  Where do I start? Do I need to send the new DXDIAG?
I really am having withdrawal problems if I dont get my AH fix every now and then.  I can live without it, but I dont want to!  I can quit anytime, I know I can , I just know it!  Help!

I can get the most accurate information from a DXDIAG output.
