A He-111H-4 would (with a couple of weapons packages) span from 1940 all the way to late 1943. After that the variants started getting more noticable.

That's a pretty big hole to fill! The Ju-88A4 we have in-game really only works for mid-1941. Maybe into early 1942. Too fast for early stuff, too weak/obsolete to be used against typhs, spit9+s, p47s, etc.

The He111 would fill a big hole in the early LW set, just like the B-25 fills a giant hole in the USAAF and RAF early war bombers.

Also, He111s were used as transports, they were used as paratroop transports, personnel transports, personal VIP craft for generals (and whatnot).

We could get a He111H with options to carry bombs, or troops, or field supplies! Imagine all that in one plane!

It seriously wounds sheep and gives out free peach cobbler. Is that gonna be alright? :)

Sorry Larry.  Missed the humor.  I've been a bit grouchy lately.

I am pro-hole filling.  I don't see the He111 filling any holes.  It adds depth of coverage, which is good, but not as good as filling holes.   The He111 never had anything like effective defences (not that any bomber armaments were really effective) and just got slower and heavier as the war progressed.  Krusty's list of He111s that are hole fillers, aren't really.  The Ju88A-4 can be used in those places too and have similar success or lack of it.

And I even agree that the He111 looks neat.  It has always been one of my favorite Luftwaffe bombers and it would have been my choice over the Ju88A-4 when they added a German bomber.

But right now I think a Ju188A-2 (which also looks great) would be a better addition.

Karnak, your right about the defensive capabilities of the 111. However it would make the number of bomber kills in BoB Scenarios alot more realistic lol

I'd rather see the Ju188A-2.  A good, mid-late war bomber with the firepower and speed to be useful later than 1940.

He111 = hangar queen in the mid and late war and duplicated coverage in early war and scenarios.  I do not understand the lust for this bomber.

I agree the He111 should be added, I just don't think it is the highest priority German bomber.

My position on it isn't that different.

CT is initially going to be set in the US Bomber offensive, so no, the He111 isn't needed at first.

Well maybe we can get around that issue by painting them like this?

Better off? Sure.
Set? Far, far, far, far, away. The only planeset that we have that is 'set' is the latewar planeset.
