IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE ENGINE SOUND BE DIRECTLY RELATED TO LOAD, SUCH AS DIVING OR CLIMBING, THIS WOULD GREATLY ENHANCE (E) AWARENESS FOR THE PILOT.

Restraint using caps would be nice also.

The engine sound all ready changes with load. It is called the throttle.

Airplane engines do not change sound when climbing or diving. They can change slightly do to change of speed of air intake. Or if very high speed where over speed becomes and issue, and in AH it does change sound in this condition.

How about having other planes change sounds when they cut throttle back and such.  All it does now is just one engine speed for planes around you.  Would love for this to be implemented if possible.

I think this already is the case. I was in a turn fight with an La7 a week or so back and I can distinctly remember the sound of him throttling his engine as he was flying next to me. We yo-yo'ed at the same time and ended up next to each other,  I may have just been imagining it though, but I was sure I could hear him working his throttle trying to get me to come down in front of him when I cut mine to stay behind his curve.

neg, that just the sound of him either going away from ya or getting closer.  There no throttling of external sounds except your own.  listen when u take off and someone lands.  There engine is always full throttle even though there not full throttle.

Would be nice but it might increase the Internet requirements. If you think about it a little more you might come to the same conclusion as me:

If HTC now has to send the data of the plane's throttle position to all planes in the vicinity of "X" Kilometers, wouldn't that slow down the server or require a faster Internet connection to download all this data?

I definitely would enjoy it, but I think HTC would be at a loss with this feature, even if there's an "On / Off" switch.

Silly question but, do pilots really hear the noise of others planes.  I thought the noise of their plane would cover the other noises.

You could hear it if you're in a 50% throttled Spitfire and a 163 buzzes you.:)

Yes, in real life if a pilot turns off (or turns down) his engine sounds he hears everything around him ;)

In game, you hear everything better when your engine is off..

Happens to me often..  It's usually accompanied by oil on the windscreen..
