This is just one more weak attempt to have the game dumbed down with the equivalent of power ups. If you can't get home, you don't get home. If you're that desparate to land your kills, watch your fuel.

Though I think it would be a blast to put together a FARP team and head towards the action on the "front", I think I have to agree with Krusty.  He makes several good points.  It would remove some of the challenge of getting to a freindly base.  Bases would also become less important as a strategic target if you could set up the equivalent just about anywhere you wanted, which is why the Army uses them.  As much fun as it would be, it would unbalance things.  As an alternative, how about making it possible to re-up a captured or damaged base a little faster, provided some serious effort went into it.  Say a certain number of vehicles or aircraft full of supplies to put a base back into immediate operation, though not fully restored from a building standpoint.  I'm still new to the game and I don't know all the details on upping bases, this may already be possible.
