I also wonder if they use the hit bubble like Aw used to or if it's more like AH.

Same price, they must have something to compete against AH with.

Well, FH3 took a big step from FH2, has anyone ever played FH2?? If FH3 is anything like FH2, it will be nowhere close to historically accurate.

Yea, the graphics arent that good. I went and checked out the P-39, it was cheesier than Hillary Clintons promises for a better America. (too cheesy but ya get my point :D )

Goto Google and type in "French military victories", then hit "I'm feeling lucky".
Here lie these men on this sun scoured atoll,
The wind for their watcher, the wave for their shroud,
Where palm and pandanus shall whisper forever,
A requiem fitting for heroes

I'm simply looking at your past posting performance.  You seem to be trolling here.  I apologize if that is jumping to conclusions after reading... ohh, 4 of your previous posts and two of the threads which you started.

(Both of which were negative towards the product whose bbs you posted on.  The negativity you put forth was not suggestive, it was overtly critical of things you "expected" to have changed... of which you did absolutely no searching for yourself to answer your own question.)
Generally, if I wanted to know what had changed with a product, I might start out by asking about it and finding a detailed list of changes...  I wouldn't start out my first thread since "re-signing onto the site" with...

I see a few new planes but that seems to be about it.

The graphics are horribly, horribly dated by today's standard and it seems like people are asking for the same things as before. A few database driven balancing tweaks plus the towns. But really. That seems like a very short effort.

After which you post screenshots from that site?

Certainly seems strange, two threads started by you, that are attempting to make a point of what you feel are this game's weaknesses.

My apologies sir.  I hope you find whatever game you're looking for.

I agree, absolutely. My bad. It was silly not to do so. But now I've been playing a bit, I do see great changes. Perhaps not a new graphics engine, which one may have expected, but still good change. :aok

I really didn't mean to point out any short comings. If I seem overly negative, that's not my intention.

Again, I have a lot of love for AH. And I do think I have expressed some positivity in AAtalen's thread. Ask him, he's flown with me on a few occasions. I'll be chitchatting about how great this is and what a good feeling it is to be back. Maybe one day You and I can fly some sorties together, mate?

This thread was just because I stumpled upon the FA site and not know what it was I simply asked.

Don't sweat it Wolf.    Let's say I had a big reputation In FA and I did my best to help and suggest new ideas that fell on deaf ears.  When I left it had gone downhill rapidly, now it is as I said a Ghost town, compared to AH.

Sometimes when I do check their boards I sometimes see posts saying AH sucks compared to FA.  I obviously post in an objective manner putting them straight on a few things and of course the post would either be removed by PPS (their hitlerite MOD) or flamed by protective folk.

Basically don't piss in other peoples back yards and even if you have what you perceive to be a moderate post others won't see it that way.

Any experienced AH player would laugh at a fresh download of FA.  Any experienced FA players 1st reaction to AH will be the frustration of the better flight model and lack of padlock (forced cockpit) and quit.  Personally I like a challenge so stuck at it.  I do miss some things, mainly the squadron events and the country specific planeset.  As GB we used to stomp over many maps and resets.  Being the war winning Field Marshal and ringleader of all things British!    Just got boring after awhile.

I see your from Denmark we have an old LTD member flying with us here and I used to fly with the great Wildane who used to be Damned.  You should check us out if you get the chance.  Looking at your scores you may benefit from a wingman ;)

Thanks for that constructive post.

And yes, I need a wingman and a sensei. I have a hotas set and even some pedals I cannibalized from a steering wheel, but I'm absolutely hopeless still. Nose bounce from rudder inputs like crazy (none from the stick) and a tendency to lose SA.

I wont be around this week, way too much work, but when do you guys usually fly? I'll look out for you and hook myself to a wing :)

I'm quite busy this week also.

As a recruitment policy we only allow British or Euro players into our squad.  So that we don't have to worry about timezones.

I usually play during the evening 6-11pm GMT.

Everything can be tweaked here, i'm sure with a bit of scaling on your rudder and stick you can get it to stop that Nose bouncing.   I have a full CH setup and love it.

We are currently Bish so keep an eye out.

I remember leaving AW after it was discontinued and some of our squad (The MAW)went to WB and others to AH. I tried them both and decided with 40dog that even tho it was much harder, AH was the better game. The majority of the squad felt the same and came here to play.  Now that I have been playing here off and on since it might be hard to choose another unless it was at least as good. Then i might use the both. Theres nothing wrong with competition but is FA even competition?  As I understand, the most dedicated sim pilots that want to get as close to real life flying as you can get choose IL2.  but it can't handle as many subscribers in one room as AH. Which probably means less kids and stronger competition in the air. Again, I bet some AH'ers, FA'er and WB'ers have both.

I wonder if WB is even still here?  hummm

Isn't FA the one where they porked the flight models to promote parity among the nations? I don't know why I remember that.

I loaded FA2 back in 2002, but to be honest I really didn't like the feel of the flying. I guess it was probably just being used to AH, but it just didn't work for me.

FA 2.5 was the one with brown mud for terrain. It was hosted on the microsoft gaming zone and had a decent sized community.

2002 was around the time FA3 came out and many people couldn't play it because their machines werent good enough.  Mine included.  I tried AH1 around this time and thought that it sucked and left a week into a free trial to get a new PC.

I remember getting 3 kills in a Niki and many people running away whenever I got near them!   Looking back on that week I can appreciate how many people I have convinced to give AH a go and them not like it all.

Without guidance its tough going.

Intrigued I downloaded it and had a go at the training. Oh dear. Easiest flight model ever, old graphics, basic scenery etc etc. Basically it is CFS2 isn't it?

In AH2 even offline you can get a sense that you are really flying in an aeroplane. Not there. Too arcadey.

AH2 for all it's flaws is top of the pile. I can't wait to see the sim that supersedes it.

Not all I have to do is unmax my credit card and resubscribe.  I hear CT is only two weeks away. Can't wait;)

There are different levels of realism, level 1 being arcade, level 5 being intermediate and level 10 advanced.   I would put AH around the level 6-7 settings there.

In some cases for me AH can be easier because of the slower (correct) acceleration of planes.  They had them cranked up to 2x times acceleration awhile back then lowered it to 1.5x.   This made taking off and getting into fights quicker and easier.  Also you could equalise E much faster against BnZing tactics.

If you still have it on your computer jump into FFA and play it for an hour when its populated it is brutal.  Don't break your stick though it will get worn out pretty quick.

I just wish the rest of the guys that I knew back then, who would be very dangerous here, would just open there eyes and jump ship.  This is where the red meat is!

Hardly, even in '98 AW had far more players and subscribers and then there was Warbirds.  FA has always been and will always be 3rd fiddle.
