Diversity, Sensitivity, and Sexual harrasment training are money making services offered by HR Vendors. My wife worked in HR for many years and now is a corporate training manager for one of BofA's competitors.
Corporations have to purchase them yearly to meet their 10k statements and underwriters requirments. The only thing they succeed in doing is make workers feel uncomortable, in fear of loosing their jobs if they sneeze sideways in front of women or minorities and give management a way to keep the work force in a subtle state of terror. Supposidly it keeps the work force in line, but managers, women and minorities have been quick to abuse it.
The joke about sexual harrassment training is it should be titled "How not to Piss of Women in the workplace and loose your Job!". Diversity and sensativity training usualy devolves into several hours of whupin up on white people in a closed room. Thats the point where I usually ask the african american instructor where he was born. Then tell him where I was born(Africa) and how my ancesters were white chained slaves of the british crown working with balck slaves in the feilds in colonial america.
Sensativity is for wussies and Marxists.
