Stuck on wifes p.c. for now.
Is it feasable to run AH from an external hard drive thereby keeping it off the wifes pc's internal drive?

If so how would I do it and anyone have recomendations for a good performing one?

I wouldn't recommend it, but I can't say from first hand experience of running any program off of external HD.  I would think Skuzzy could handle this better than I could as he would know the intricacies of AH.  I can tell you Firewire HD's are faster than USB.

It can be done.. your problem is going to be stuttering in the game any time it needs to pull any information off of the drive.

The interface of the external drive is much slower than the internal interface.

If you absolutely must keep it off the wife's hard drive, you might try putting AH and RAM-drive software onto a "pen drive"... then you can create a RAM-drive (this is assume she has more than enough system RAM available), copy AH onto that and run it from there.

Just an idea though.
