I get "itchy feet" from time to time, but my day and age of trucking has passed. I came from the old school, pre computers and satellitle tracking times.
Good Lord man I drove a '67 Pete with a butterfly hood around Houston before 610 was completed when I was 15 with a daytime only hardship license. You try something like that today and you would be on the freaking Today Show. It was a helluva summer tho.
When I do get a strong urge I pull out the paycheck I never cashed from my owner-operator days, a 2 week truck owner's check for 68 cents. Fuel was under a buck a gallon back then.
