Looks like the Intel ship came in. I'm seeing E8400's all over the place again at the lower price. Mwave has them for $205. Looks like now might be the moment. 8800GT 512 vid cards about the same.

Perhaps my patience was rewarded.

Last I looked it was sold out again.  :lol

I think there is a full herd of system builders and ebay sellers buying them. They go fast!

Retail version still in stock at Newegg at $209. Limit 1 per customer.

I can attest that the E8400 is a monster. If you can get your hands on one...do it!

I saw the E8500 on Newegg for the first time. Was so tempted to get one but-t-t-t-t-t, having built 3 machines in 6 months I'm on a budgetary diet. :rock

I went to Newegg to check out the price and read the reviews of it. One of those guys said in his review that the E8400 blows the E6850 (what I have) out of the water   :huh :cry

Let my wife ask me what I want for my birthday this year     :pray

And also consider this.
Is it worth an extra almost $100 for another .16GHz.

It might be better. then the 8400. But is it $80 worth of better?
