When i'm feeling sad..or just wanna get quiet and think or reflect. I put on the whole dark side of the moon record in the dark, lie down and just listen to the whole thing.

One of the greatest movements of music in the entire history of western civilization.  Floyd so perfectly nailed it with this one.

what happened to all the decent music? nowadays it's all dumb indie BS, dancy beats, and hiphop crud.

none of it means anything, it has no soul, the music has become sound rather than song. and when it's just a sound instead of a song, it doesn't mean anything. it's depressing... music's just money nowadays, not a medium for expression...

when will someone do something original? it's a shame to think that all the lists of greatest artists and albums will never change much in the future.

Only "newer bands" I'll listen are Supergrass (new album to released this year and I cannot wait) and Oasis.   The rest is for s**t or "bollocks" as you'd say.

yup supergrass and oasis have had some pretty cool tunes. you can guarantee that an oasis tune will be being sung at numerous drunken sing-alongs, although i don't hold either in the same regard as people like floyd, led zep, the beatles, CSN&Y (and all of their other conquests), hendrix, clapton, grateful dead etc.

i don't think music will ever be as good as it was in the 60s and early 70s

Althrought I adore many styles, from R&B to techno, Pink Floyd made some albums that never feel old fashion. Have to give it up to those rare bands.

Found this rare footage just now:   David wasn't in the band more than 2 months.    The Telecaster was stolen by the Airline otw into the US for their first US Tour with him.   He went to the Strat because of it.

Now look at how far along Astronomy has evolved for David:   Not to mention this was just over a month after Syd had passed away.

I really can't get into that song at all. Too me, it's just garbage and sounds amateurish....especially compared to some of the stuff they came up with.

It almost reminds me of Spinal Tap.

Pink Floyd does have some awesome music though.
