Pity me so...

..if you don't already, on grounds of general idiocy.

It's been a long haul since our last vacation, which we took at home. This marks the first day of my college student daughter's (guess why the last vacation was at home!) spring break...and its naturally the day of the biggest snow storm of the year. We have a nice little condo all rented and waiting for us in warmer climes, but we can't get there because we have a level 3 county road advisory, which means you get a ticket for being on the roads at all. (Considered dressing one of the kids in bloody rags and faking a run to the hospital, but we'd be driving AWAY from the ER -- kinda hard to explain.)

Instead of an early start DRIVING on the roads, I've had to start SHOVELLING them...twice so far, and its still coming down. Can't see 200 feet, and the plows haven't even pretended to come our way yet.

So for the first time ever, I'm going to use this emoticon:

 :cry :cry :cry

Maturity is knowing that I've been an idiot in the past.
Wisdom is realizing I will be an idiot in the future.
Common sense is trying to not be an idiot right now

risk the ticket, and if you get one consider it a vacation expense.   :)
