I stand corrected, yes, the clouds do appear to have alittle 'blockiness' still apparent in tranisition(inside, Fantastic!), hopefully HTC isn't finished with it (as rumor has it) so we will see.

The clouds as they stand, are very dissapointing.

Inside they are very good, and from above also (although they often seem to end abruptly and are replaced by a grey smear).

But see them from outside and they look very, very poor compared to the standard of the rest of the graphics (32 bit sunsets etc).

I will try to post a picture of my typical experience ASAP.

Some views of my experience with the new clouds:

It appears cloud layers still have a few bugs that need tinkering with. Other than these problems, and the rather ugly transition, I like 'em. Flying above them is a blast. Under them is fun, when the coloring comes out right. Flying through them has a bug; that being you don't get the normal gray out. I can see the cloud sprites fine even when flying through the middle of the layer. There's also a problem with using the #2 View Distance Depth: The clouds cut out rather abruptly.

Not a bad start, but as usual it needs some tinkering.

Good AAR Flak.. yesterday, we had clouds over an enemy field we were in the process of capturing, while the cap kept the enemy cons (from another field) busy up above the clouds, our goon (thks BD5Pilot!) snuck in and captured it.  The fight above and in the clouds was awesome!

HT did indeed say he was still unhappy with the clouds...hopefully they'll continue to work on it.

I'm not surprised HT isn't happy with it - it just jars with the high standard of the rest of the product.
