it was in class with the teacher pretty into it and all...but wasn't like we were being political experts.

When the teacher is "Pretty into it" that means he is a flaming whacko, only minorly afraid of the consequences of being crazier than ape toejam toothpaste.

Someone brought up President Bush planning 9/11 and wanting all this war to happen because of his dad....What do you guys think? I'm not so sure what the correct answer is because I have no proof or disproof. Let me know what your guy's opinions are.

A short history lesson:

Bush #1 went to the american people prior to the gulf war...and told them we had to go into iraq because they had invaded kuwait.

The liberals screamed that he was going to start world war three...among other things..and protested the war.

Bush #1 came back and said, "OK...I promise to end the war once Iraqi troups leave Kuwait.

He did.

Then, those same liberals had the stones to actually change face...and protest...and tell Bush #1 "you did not FINISH THE JOB" (meaning kill saddam.)

Bush #2 takes office.

Bush #2 kills saddam.

those same liberals flip their opinions yet again....and complain that all Bush we went to Iraq just to kill saddam.

Here's the real scoop:

Some bad stuff happened.  The group that stands the most to gain from the removal of the one in power loudly complained about how things were mismanaged/suggested complicity/howled in anger.  The group supporting the ones in power responded in kind, and while everyone was busy arguing, the rest of the world kept turning and other stuff kept happenining.

Rinse, repeat.

(BTW, the above applies to just about any point in history.  The names and faces change, but the story stays the same.  It's all just a little bit of history repeating.)

It's frightening to think that a small group of men with utility knives can kill 3000 people.  It's frightening to think that one lone nut-job with a gun in a warehouse can take out the most powerful man in the world.  It's easier to invent incredibly complex conspiracy theories than to understand that incredibly henious acts can be successfully committed by a relatively few and unimportant people.
