While authentic to the war, how does this enhance game play? CVs can be taken out now pretty easily by those who have developed tactics to do so, at least the CVs I have been playing on don't last long at all. To glorify a terribly short sighted decision by those involved, is not something I would care to see. If this was an AI threat to CV's it might be plausable.
The idea that a pilot in a sticken plane may decide to ride his plane into an imminent threat to his fellow fighting men is understandable, to do so in a pre-planned manner is a symbol of desperation. Given the technology of delivery sytems at that point in history I do understand that it was tried, yet my ethnocentric viewpoint does not wish to see this feature in game. This game, in my opinion, should be more about developing the skills to simulate destroying the other's machine, then return to base, rearm, repair, and try again.
I understand the implications of "playing" war in and of itself is a glorification of this quirk of human nature to turn upon itself. But, some limits are not too bad. Do we need to see graphically all the truths about combat? It is not a very pretty picture. If we add the sounds and smells, it might quickly end all the fun, because there is nothing glamorous about it. We can justify this form of entertainment by chaulking it up to competition where people do not get hurt, other than an ego or two perhaps. It really is scary that some think Kamikaze a "cool" idea. So, in short, I do not support the idea. Thanks for trying to offer ideas to improve the game, I am always open for improvment.
