There have been many a great film produced over the years for the events.

This is right up near the top, very well done.

Brilliant Kermit, simply brilliant.

:aok
Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.

hahaha i showed the film to my dad (retired navy F-18 pilot) after explaining what an FSO is (he used to play fighter ace, and we had similar reinactments) and he got all fired up, he's on his macbook right now looking at building a PC so he can play too :P

cept hes like... ohh man i gotta have the 28" monitor, and the FORCE FEEDBACK joystick (we used to have sidewinders) instead of that crappy pos you have blah blah blah

and im like... dammit! (waits on tax return so i can build a new cool computer.... better than his)

Hmmm, using the Aces High Film Viewer sounds like work to me...

I could give it a shot.  Events that you all think are interesting such as, vox converstation :)  , fights, formations, landings, patrols  whatever you think would make a good story.
Hell if you have a story of your own and would like to share it with me in text format, post it here for all to read!  Hell post any ideas for the film that you might have.

So email me your AHF films from Frame 1 already!

Remember to make sure the file size is low otherwise email will not work.  If you are handy with FTPs, then I could give ya access to my server for uploading large files that email doesn't like.  I can start working on this by Tuesday and hope to get something done by friday.  That's not much time so a 2min video would be something I'd shoot for again.  This video wasn't easy to make or even film!  Ask strip about not being able to see the CV or him discoin' 15 times in an hour!  I told ya the CV was there on my screen Strip :)  This won't be easy for me.  We'll see if I can make something wtih the film viewer, as I didn't use the Film Viewer to make this film.  If it turns out weird, I'll stick to one film per FSO event.

Oh and I guess it's now "Over 400" people in FSO.  Wow!

<S> CM's  This frame btw was the "coolest" I've ever been in.  Excellent tactics by many squads.  Many working and talking together throughout the frame.  It was awesome.  Stoney, AKDogg <S>!

Edit:
Thanks for your feedback.  Hopefully you'll have your squadmates who don't fly FSO, rethink their decision after you show them this film.
the4ork, that's cool of your father to do that!  lol.

Kermit,

Just getting into video editing.  Not very good I'm afraid.
Just made one film using Windows Movie Maker.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKDMO-mvk5U

I really want to learn how to do this as its a major deficiency
in my skill set.  Can you tell me what video editing software you
used?  I'm on a Windows XP Pro machine.

Anyone else with tips or recommendations, please chime in!

Thanks!  <S>

Delta,
I'll try to be brief.
I bought a book on amazon called “Inspired 3d Short Film Productions” a few years ago.  Ignore half of it as it applies to 3d animation software, but the other half is perfect!  It will REALLY help you out in short film making!  I tend to go back to it every so often to refresh my mind on many topics.
I use Sony Vegas 5.0.  Don't use Windows Movie Maker, it will hold you back!  Get yourself a sketchpad so you may write down your ideas!  Always have a goal.  There's more to it than video so add sound effects, music, voices, or anything that serves a purpose to the story.  Always ask yourself, why would someone want to watch this film again?  Think big picture, then work your way to the smaller details.

I WILL help you out, but via email, PMs or just another thread if you are willing to go out and buy a book.
<S> 96Delta

I'll pm you more info tomorrow such as some drawings and how this project progressed over the 3 days of "production". From the original idea to the final version.

P.S. if you have any tips on using the Film viewer, I could use some right about now, Delta.  :)
<---Aces High Film Viewer scares the crap outta me!
