Oh well...
« on: March 14, 2008, 02:13:27 PM »
Looks like no P-39 this week...

I wonder what the odds are of it being out in time for frame 2 or 3? Probably slim, but still.... the anticipation is palpable.  :O

I know .. I was really hoping for the P39. Thought it would be great to work into this FSO.

Fingers crossed on it being out for next week. I just don't want them to release like today .. would cause all sorts of problems for us (350+ pilots downloading new version and then a lot of them downloading the Aleutians terrain).

So anyday before friday next week would be good for me. :)

I remember Fire Over Malta. They released the 109 update right in the middle of it. Totally changed the 109Fs which were in use. Especially no more gondolas.

I seem to recall thinking "Gee... shouldn't they time these things NOT to interrupt major events?"

It would be nice. Personally I am scared of them releasing the ships in the middle of the event. If it is just new shapes fine but other changes .. like more guns, etc .. yeah that causes me nightmares.

Well they will not release on Friday any more, per Pyro. So no worries about it messing up a FSO frame.
Ya I was hoping they would have it out this week too. Crossing my fingers for next week. :)

Exactly what part of any release of the P-39 would have any inpact on this frame?

Base line would be zero.

The 39 saw action in this conflict but due to serious flaw's in the airframe & performance the 39 was given up real fast for very good reason.

Can we please fill up the holes in the Axis plane set before we add to much more to the Allied side!

It just doesn't seem sporting unless the tools are there.  The lack of Axis attendance might change is we just gave them the tool's they need to run their missions.

New releases bog down the server, slowing downloads (and this is going to be probably a 75MB+ patch!!!). On top of that is the general flux of the servers while the DL is being run by 5000 players.

On top of THAT, there has yet to be a single update in the past couple of years that didn't have some major bug that did something bad for a few weeks before HTC released a patch.

Gee... entire CV graphics updated.... What if a bug slips through where the models don't register hits? NO damage? Hrm... that MIGHT hinder this FSO, maybe.  :D

That depends on whose side you're on. ;)
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
