Shot down pilots
« on: March 21, 2008, 07:56:50 AM »
Okay, I was involved with a base capture the othe day.  I was flying cap in a fighter and running low on fuel, instead of going home I stuck it out cause I still had ammo and we still had the occasional fighter coming and we had troops inbound.  My resoning was that we would have the base in time for me to land at our new feild.  The LTV came in dropped his troops and all but one made it in to the map room, the last died to a flack gun who spawned at the last second.  So here I am no gas no options.  So I get to thinking right after I ditch next to town why can't I help with the capture, they only need one more trooper and hear I am on foot at town without an airplane.

Long story short why can't shot down pilots help with base captures.

ok an example, there are 20 pilots in a mishun they all go through the base, smash it up kill all the hangars etc etc,

10 of them then proceed to bail out over the town and run into the map room for capture.  This way there will be no need for a slow lumbering C47!

That could be fixed by making it so it woould take a minimum number of regular troops to take a town say, 7 or 8.  The bailed out shot down pilots would just fill in the gap that was left by atrition.
