Mac Boot Camp
« on: March 16, 2008, 12:20:21 PM »
I'm running a dual core Mac Mini w/ XP service pack 2 installed via bootcamp. I've installed the hotfix patch, gone through regedit and  added the throttle key & changed my boot.ini to include /usepmtimer.

When I run Aces High I get the clipboard but (and this is all I've tried so far) when I try to open offline practice I get a black screen followed shortly by this program has performed an illegal action & will be shut down message. I'm going to try re-downloading & installing it again to see if this fixes it but was curious if anyone else has had this problem & can steer me in the right direction.

I've been running AH on an Intel equipped iMac 24, via BootCamp with no issues, except for a "bogus" sound pack :uhoh ..the sound pack re-arranged the sound devices in BootCamp..look for any yellow exclamation marks (!) in the "installed devices". BTW, the only thing that I did to eliminate the spinning Clipboard was to install the "KB896256 patch".

Got it to work, just had to change the resolution & runs pretty good now. Only squable I have is my smoke trails are all jacked up & the clouds wig out. Smoke trails cut in & out & sometimes don't show up at all. The clouds keep melting into the ground. I upped from a CV earlier & the clouds seemed to be melted into the water & would change as I moved my head around in the cockpit. I really have no way to describe it. I'm gonna keep messing with it & see what I come up with.

Also, my old headset doesn't work with my Mac, it's only got an optical drive for the mic. No biggie as wasplanning on running a bluetooth set of headphones & mic combo. Question is this; can I run my phone bluetooth earpiece & only get vox transmissions out of it kind of like Call of Duty 4 on my PS3? If so, I may run it that way because I like having environment sounds coming from my speakers & vox from a headset, kind of adds to the immersion factor...
