Doolittle Raid
« on: March 16, 2008, 09:08:19 PM »
On April 18, I will be re-creating the Doolittle raid. On that day 56 years ago 16 B-25 planes rolled off the carrier Hornet and bomb Japan. I have 4 pilots willing to do this: Homer13, Russian6, Mike254, and Turbo10. So I asking for 12 more pilots willing to do this. The time of the mission will be around 8:00 or 9:00pm EST

To do this mission we will take B-25Cs with 50% fuel, 6 500 lbs bombs, and the glass gun. We will take off from a airbase in which we will head towards a cv and land on the carrier. We will then back-up into position and wait for my command to take off and bomb factories. After the bombing we will crash land somewhere away from the bombing. I will record this and place it on Youtube. Reply if you want to take part in this mission.

THE FIRST PRACTICE MISSION WILL BE ON MARCH 20th IN THE TRAINING ARENA 9:00 EST AND ON MARCH 22TH AT 9:00 EST, Hope to see you there<S>

Sounds pretty neat, gonna be hard to get all bombers lined up perfectly on the cv since planes don't show exactly where they're suppose to be on cvs. I may show up for the training run on the 20th but don't get your hopes up.

Is it not settable by the host what is allowed on a cv?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
