first impretion
« on: March 20, 2008, 09:03:56 PM »
well finally got to run the game, what a rush!  :)
ofcourse i suck badly, but i did noticed a few things.

first of all the planes react to the controls like wild, the response is so crisp and fast it feels artificial. i find it highly irritating.
another thing i cant nderstand is why we have 2 late war arenas? whats the point behind it? as if spliting up the comunity to early mid and late war arenas isnt enough.
and lastly, and no suprise here. the common dweeb still rules the arena with the usual horde gang bang riskless flying attitude. gawd its good to be back  :D

anyways im flying by myself most of the time and will gladly join someone as a wingman, so if you are sick of flying loner give me a shout if you see me in the air, i promise ill atleast bea good bait  :)
im currently flying under the name "finally" untill i can sort things out with HTC to get my old name back

The game allows anyone to fine tune the controls to their own preferences.  It is impossible to code a game with a Default setting that will be absolutely spot on for every combination of computer, controller and expectations.  Kudos to HTC for allowing you to make it feel like you want it to feel.

As for the splitting of the arenas, it's really quite simple.  Server load.  You can only stuff so many people into a room before things start to sour.  It is a Plus that HTC had to split arenas. More choices is good, wouldn't you agree?  I mean, the alternative is to cut off people from flying so that a few get to play in a single sandbox, that's not really a good idea.

 :D Hope this helps.

Might be, I didn't see that in his post though.  It is good to have him back though.

On the subject you bring up though, I understand completely.  The hardest thing about "playing" and flying is the radical difference, even though you know the game planes are modeled so well.

You just cannot simulate the feeling when you are plowing down the runway in a 4 seater, plane shaking, picking up speed, getting up to the point where you think Man we are Hauling!!  Then the nanosecond your wheels leave the runway you think  DANG we Stopped!!!

Game just cannot duplicate that :)

Roc I was a private pilot for a long time had to give it up.  but that description is exactly what I used to love about flying.  Landings were the opposite you seemed to hang over the runway then just when your wheels hit "WOW I'm really moving"  LOL

Welcome back Flyboy, hows the AF treating you? got many hours in fighters? (IIRC you were last seen going MIA to join Israeli Air Force with flight training).

I don't know what to put here yet.

You can adjust the responsiveness of your controls to your liking - Write-up on Controller Set-up
