Lute....same here, except I used to be a 2/3 pack a day smoker.

I quit 6 months ago.

Get all the help you can bro (I used the patch).

When things get tough...remember all the folks (like the ones on this thread) who are cheering you on.

YOU CAN DO IT!

what were your reasons for quiting?

lazs

My sister, who was an occasional/social smoker, just had her second Cancer scare (we'll know this week if the surgery got it all) and I decided it was "time" for me to quit.  I had been thinking how great it would be to quit for a couple years now anyway.

It's been a week, and only "kinda" miss it.  Last night I coughed and took a deep breath and felt a section of my lungs I prob. have not had access to for years and years.  It is amazing how much more energy I have.

Flying...

Not smoking while flying Aces High is the toughest habit for me to break.  That "see a dot you know is a con and you are about to fight 'em" cig. is a tough one to let go of.

You can do it dude!!!!

BTW: What do you plan to do with all that money you are saving?  (Carton = $25 to $40 bucks each)...we can be talking $100 to $300 a month depending on how much you used to smoke.

I am on day 9.

I'm not a quitter, I just ran out of smokes 9 days ago and havent gotten any since.

I'm also using chantix, so I'm kinda cheating.

I had the same experience. On day 7 I wanted one SOOO bad. So I bummed one and lit up. GAWD! That thing was so disgusting. The way it smelled, the way it tasted. I cant believe I smoked for 20 years ... Y E A R S! After about 2 puffs I tossed it out. nasty.

Anyway, good luck Lute & Elfie. The future is starting to smell better already.

Now that is a rather unique way of looking at it.  :D

Hang in there, it does get easier. (Day 18 and counting)

Babby carrots did help me quit smoking, i used to eat 2-3 bags /day , also A vitamines improved my eyesight , i could see ZooZoo hiding in m3 half sector away and cigarette butts from half a mile

Keep it up Lute,

In 12 days I will have quit for a year after smoking for more than 40. I was down to about a pack a day but with the help of chantix I have made it without too much trouble.

Congrats and here's hoping you keep quitting.
