On a related note, it seems that the survival of the world hinges at least indirectly on the financial ruin of wealthy Arabs.

This one might actually come within reach with a price tag of $30k and around 300mpg with their hybrid version. They say they have plans to sell these in California within the next year or so.

It certainly can't hurt. Greed is a very powerful motivator as well.
