skins problem
« on: March 23, 2008, 07:35:12 AM »
first I have vista home premium which can be run in 2 modes as myself as administrator and with computer as admin. I originally downloaded all the skins with computer as admin and that is fine but I have recently been playing with myself as admin due to being able to do screenshots. The problem with the skins and all my other settings  apparently is that my settings do not carry over to the me as admin mode. I have to redo all my views also. I really don't want to download all those skins again and when I try to download a individual skin off the ah2 website it says I already have it. when I go to my program file in the skin folder the only entry is skin.res. shouldn't all the skins be in there. what I would like to do is delete them all and just get the individual ones I want or carry them over to the admin mode. How do I delete them if they don't show up in the file. is this clear as mud, any ideas.

thanks

does having all these skins affect computer performance. I have plenty of disc space.

The way you are doing it will mean you will have 'settings' files in two different places on your hard drive.

If you want the game to act consistent using the technique you are using.  Simply always right-click on the Aces High II startup ICON, then select "Run as administrator".  That way you will not have to change users and will not run into the file placement problems.

This is all due to the UAC feature in Vista.

yes I plan on running as admin from now on, But how can I delete all the old skins from the computer as admin mode so I can just download the ones I want from the ah2 website.

There should be another skins folder in a user directory.  Try searching for it.

Then again Vist may be hiding them from you is you were not the one account who installed them.

Skins.res is installed by the server when you connect to the inline arenas.  You can safely remove it, as it will be re-installed automatically if it is not there or when there is a skins update.
