I would say, the H2H hosting rights with valid subscription only.

New 'Entrance' hosting options:
- Squad / Buddy-list members.
- Subscripted members.
- Non-subscripted members.

None of which would solve the problem of "an uncontrollable environment where egg regular gets thrown in HTC'S face by "l337 h4xx0rz".

Why is that a problem?  If the host doesn't take care of it, you can simply not play there.  If direct connection was the alternative to main arenas, then you would have to know the host anyway in order to get his internet protocol address.  Most games have worked this way for at least fifteen years, and it hasn't hurt them any.  Like I said, if the host doesn't police his server well, you can simply decline to play on it.

I would like to play H2H since I never did. But like night I doubt HTC will ever bring it back.

*squeak*
*cough* sorry bout that, h2h probably never will come back, 1 bad egg ruined it for us all, so never again will I be able to rule the skies in a chog with unlimited ammo and fuel, but oh well, only thing I really miss about it is flyin with the 17th Air Warriors, mostly sean and xena.

Because, H2H was becoming a breeding ground for at least 1 hacker. I won't say anything else about that matter....

You've apparently never played an FPS... about 6 months after an FPS is released, it becomes almost unplayable due to rampant hacking. Of course, in that case, EA or Infinity Ward or whoever can just put out a new game, but it would spell death for HTC.

Maybe because direct LAN play is still possible.
