You'd be surprised what the 38 can do on the deck, low and slow. Besides, staying high, fast and using slashing attacks doesn't really help your stick skills in the long run.

1.  I fly by the "RULE OF 45." If a you cannot get a shot at a bandit through 45 degrees of turn it's time to break off and manuver for another shot.

Good tactics. By the time you'll complete your 8 x 45 degree turns, your 'victim' will probably die by old age

So you're gonna kill that pesky 262 with your superior speed?

Sticking to one tactics only, you're missing 90% of the goodies. Have a session with one of the top b-38 pilots (delirium, twinboom, murdr, ack-ack and few others) and you'll see, that bomber is capable fighter in right hands, even when slow and low.

Maybe so, but neither will I get my butt shot down following a 109 around in a circle till I am low and slow and have one of his buddies come in and blast me with his "Tater Gun." Sorry, they teach you that right after they teach you to pull your wheels up when you fly.

In BOA so far I have downed 2X 262's and damaged 2x more with engines blown out plus 3x 234's downed. Not too shabby with my "Inferior" speed.

I don't recall saying I stuck to one tactic in a dogfight. I just try to keep as much "E" behind me as I can in everything I do, usually it doesn't let me down and I can usually engage at will. I am FAR from being a Hot Stick in the 38 but at my skill level I do ok. I think if you look at the history books also most actual 38 drivers didn't get in to turning dogfights with enemy aircraft even though some of the Master 38 pilots like Bong and Mcquire had the skills to.

LOL as long as they keep coming down and playing with my 38, I'll keep dying :)

Do understand thats my MA mentality.  Scenarios etc is a different world.  But I'd rather bend the stick in the MA and have at it.  And I'm too old to climb too high to come down on em.  I like seeing how long I can make them miss their shots.  And the satisfaction from reversing someone whose been the agressor and getting the kill is much more satisfying to me then fighting from the advantage.  But I'm strange that way :)

If turn fighting means lufbery to you, you have a long way to go. Anyways it's your $15. I prefer Guppy's way. More fun for all. Unfortunately, guys like him are minority...
