anyone like the B-17?

I like LYNX when he's grumpy.  But for some odd reason I always think of him on a submarine with Alec Badwin.

just wondering if there's anyone who flies nothing but B-17's here... but just for bombing of course!

i've only flown the 17 one\ce or twice. i seem to prefer the JU88's for short range missions.......and the lancs for almost everything else..

The B-17 is the ONLY BUFF I will up. B-24 has a slightly bigger bomb load w/1000lb bombs, but burns like a tiki torch when you say the WORD "fighters". The Lanc has a great bomb load but pea shooters for guns with a rediculously low level of ammo and it climbs like locomotive.

Flying Fortresses will deliver the bomb load and get you home most of the time, (That is unless Lusche is in the area).

Also it is the only Boeing airplane in the game and I was born in Seattle... My uncle built B-17s, B-29/50s, B-47s and B52s.

Well jeez glad you guys you can show some B-17 love   Just to let you know LYNX it was a simple question just wondering what everyone though about that plane In my opinion Lanc is only good for a HQ raid (by yourself) or for large airfields. And I don't need any help either flying it either. Its the best bomber in my opinion because you can do 4-5 sec calibrations with it even at 30k and get a perfect hit, unlike the B24. It's funny everyone spends so much time flying straight and level and precise when all you have to remember is making calibrated airspeed = true airspeed and you never miss. In the B-17 altitude settles very quickly in the bombsite. Thanks for showing some support to this bomber gents

Historically, the B-17 was easier to fly, B-24 hunted in the yaw axis.
