My kid is going crazy with texting.. am I the only parent dealing with this.

#1 don't give a phone unless it is needed.
#2 don't turn on the text messaging.
#3 only give them something like 20 minutes a month in a prepaid phone that cuts off after that time is up.
#4 Don't give them a phone.

now something i can help with       something that would stop me is takeing away my cell if  i text   like over some type of limit srry bad a spelling but   give a limite then if he/she/grub goes over that limit  make them pay the amount of money that is over it.

That's what happens when you give a kid a cellphone. They never use grammar or proper spelling, and refer to "txt tlk" instead. When I text, I take my time to use proper spelling and grammar. If you quote this post when in Firefox, you'll notice the only red lines I have are under "txt" and "tlk".

None of my kids have an interest in texting (yet). I toss a cell phone to the kids when they go out bike riding ~ so I can remind them that they're late coming home (again!).    My phone contract is near it's expiration. I'm considering not renewing.

One thing that has really surprised me in reading this is that the young men are as interested in phones/texting as the young ladies are. Wow ~ surprise!

I just cut off my kids fingers, ...blinded them,...popped their eardrums,.... and sewed their mouths shut.

That way i don't have to worry about texting, or this pesky world getting to their fragile constitutions,..

Saves me from having to do the work of a parent..
