Screen freeze/Black outs

I didn't know where to put this one so decided to try my luck here. Today the game for me has been acting really screwy. The screen freeze actually for while but decided to see what I can do to help it stop. It usually happens when I pull the trigger and/or closing in on enemy plane. Strip was telling me to preload the skins but it didn't seem to work. Anything else I can do, or will I have to end up defragging?


Second question: I must have done something screwy on the video settings because now the black outs in high G turns are different; instead of it doing the ''tunnel'' before black out is complete, it just turns the whole screen. I filmed it but haven't seen it yet but hopefully someone  can help me out. Its pretty frustating.

I find that if I turn off "optimize objects" in the video settings menu, it causes blackouts of the nature you describe.

Turn off as many processes as you can.  AH is very CPU intensive and if you can do anything to free up resources, it'll help.  If this is a new problem, have you installed anything new lately that could be running in the background and laboring your CPU more?

You should take this to the Tech Support Forum.  Probably have more luck there.

I also suggest you ALWAYS do a FRESH reboot of your system BEFORE you fly in AH as some programs leave your vid setting in a MESS!
