Flight (Performance) envelopes for all aircraft
« on: March 30, 2008, 11:55:35 AM »
I know we have the cruise speed for altitude graphs and climb rates, but what I would like to see is a performance envelope for all of the aircraft in the game.  Heck, if I was give the raw data (min/max speeds for given altitude in 1000 foot increments), I would put it together myself.  It would be great to have one chart to show me minimum airspeed at a given alt and maximum for a given alt as well as displaying the ceiling for a given airspeed.

For those that are unfamiliar with the flight (performance) envelope, here is a basic overview of it from Wikipedia.  As stated, it is just a graph where the X axis if for airspeed and the Y axis is altitude.  Each plotted point represents the minimum or maximum speed for a given altitude.  The area inbetween all of the points represents the "envelope".  Taking your aircraft outside of that envelope equates to departing controlled flight (and in the case of Vmax, usually loosing vital aircraft components).

this would be VERY useful information.  might keep me from ripping ailerons off of vertain aircraft in dives...  mostly the mossie and ar238...  both of which can be flown without them tho, just makes it hard to evade enemy cons on ur tail.
If i said anything to offend u, plz ignore it.

also, if i say anything stupid or rude, it was probobly too late at night and i was half asleep, so ignore that too.

oh yeah, its all just my opinion, so if ya dont care, just keep it to urself, cuz if u dont care, i sure wont!

here is a better page in my opinion that helps explain the reason why information like this is needed:

"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC
