Question about the coordinate system
« on: March 31, 2008, 08:04:56 AM »
I've noticed in a coupe of places that the coordinate system for location (X,Y & Z) has the altitude in the Y field. Is this supposed to be this way? I was just expecting Z to be altitude.

If you're talking about the seperation, then yes, the y field is for altitude, X is for left or right of the main
flight and z is for ahead or behind the main flight.
The three most common expressions (or famous last words) in military aviation are:'Did you feel that?' 'What's that noise?' and'Oh S...!'
