Bug With Flaps
« on: March 30, 2008, 04:43:42 PM »
This bug has effected me a few times actually.  I'm turning with flaps down tryin to live (cause its a rare happening when I do live) and someone will come in and shoot me and hit a flap.  The flap falls off and I know this because a few times I landed with it and checked and it was gone, but the plane behaves as if the flap is still down and I can't retract it. :cry  Has this happened to anyone else?

I don't know why HTC wont change this! When you see the flap "fall off", its actually jammed. The aircraft model doesn't show it visually, but the flap is jammed and the aircraft will roll the other wing down. Been this way for ages, needs a fix IMHO.

quick question.  Haven't really payed attention, but will the flap indicator stay "stuck" in the spot that corresponds with where the flap is stuck at.  So if I see that it's at the third position, can I automatically know that I just have to drop three notches of flaps to balance things out, or do I have to manually figure out where it's stuck through trial and error?

Thats a very good question and I think it does not. I remember having my remaining flap autoretract (hate that BS  :furious) and seeing my indicator move to show the retracted position.
This is just one more reason for wishing the autoretract feature was an option.
Give us a creak when we overspeed by more than 10mph, jam the flap on overspeeding by 20mph and tear the flap off when we overspeed by more than 50mph. Doesn't sound that much harder to incorporate. :P
Or atleast make it so that if one flap is jammed, other does not autoretract!
