After some testings, I can't play AH good enought since my WinME install (FPS 10-14, 3-6 smoke, 1-2 CV  ). It was barrely playable under W98 (FPS 21, 9 near smoke, 4 near CV).

So when I can get enought money I will replace my P350 by a K7-1G. Expect within 2 week to 1 month.

have fun, catch you later guys if I don't die of AH starvation till then    

     

Sancho, don't let anyone be the top P47 pilot. The "crown" needs to remain in Bishland.     Keep a keen eye on Lephturn, RA, Regurge, Kronos, Eddiek...

Sorry to hear about your Hardware breakdown, but hey..we all need to "upgrade" one day or another...heh

damn dude, you hosed your pc?  reinstall win98 and come fly!

seriously, i can't believe you did as well as you did with that P350!  you could probably upgrade motherboard and cpu and keep most of the other components.  Asus A7V w/ 1GHz Athlon is like $260 right now.  hurry up and fix that POS!

Seriously, hurry back dude. I'm flying on a Celeron 466 so if you got one of those lying around somewhere and need a temporary machine that should work fine for now.

This is not a slam on frenchy in particular, but it always seems funny that you see 50 guys sounding off about how Aces should stay $30 dollars a month when someone starts a pricing thread, then the same guys complain about the frame rate the get on their pentium 166 with a voodoo 1 and 8 megs of ram. If you can afford 30 bucks a month you can upgrade that gaming rig

Frenchy, I think DX8 is in "as default" in WinME. and I don't think you can go "backwards" when it comes to DX on this OS.

Gunslayer, I understand your statement but it's not really accurate. Spending $30/month, as far as I'm concerned, has nothing to do with being rich, but more on "how I set my priorities".

I don't smoke, don't party much, that helps to skeeze $8/week. (a movie and a beer). But when it comes to spend $500 in one time ... ouch!

Frenchy, try turning off the dumb restore utility thing.  That's what kills your performance in ME.  (Why did you "upgrade" to it anyway.  The best it can do is make your system slower and chew up disk space.)
