The 190s are light years ahead of where they used to be.

It's not the turn radius. It's the stall handling and AoA at stall. Used to be even the slightest Gs at 250mph or so would snap-stall you. Made it very hard to try turning.

Now you can get slow with the rest (to a degree). I'm not saying to try and stall fight folks, just that your wing won't snap-stall until you ACTUALLY stall this time.

Much improved.

If you're used to the old cockpits, you're in for a rude awakening, though!

Well, did my first rides in the arena...lots of good impressions but for now I'm happy with taking off, flying here and there ,trying not getting killed and landing...

I'm so out of form it hurts, lol.

I've tried both the D9 and the A8. With the D9 I felt untouchable as long as I did no stupid things, and with the A8 I didn't feel clumsy at all. other than my natural clumsiness after so much time being out of play. I have to get tuned to the planes again anyway, as I don't really know how to push them to the limits any longer.

and yeah, krusty, I noticed the cockpits and have been quite a nasty surprise. But I guess they were a bit too permisive back in AH1, and with a good tuning of the views they aren't that big of a problem.

But the main problem is that ,if back in the time I used to play AH I was a terrible shoot, now it's even worse. I've missed straight shots on planes hanging on the prop and almost stopped in the sky. I'm quite embarrased, lol. But I guess I'll get better (I'm using a different control set I used back on the times, so that might explain it too.but still...)

I've seen some old hands online. Whels (who is a noob ;)) for instance. And I've got killed by grendel twice. One thing surprises me...no general channel anymore?...hard to say hello that way. But anyway, <S> for the kills, grendel, if you read this lines.

Kirin!!!!! pal it's been a LONG while?. Where's Santa?...and Hristo?...and all the old JG54 hands?. Would be cool to do a nice comeback in force; JG54 roaming the skies again, hehehehe. Those were good times doing free hunts all in A8s ;).

PD: Wilbus is a NOOB!  :rofl ;)

Gotta log for a while now. See ya in the skies :)

200 is the new channel 1.  Channel 1 got closed for abuse.
You missed Apar by a month or so, he just quit from burn out.  It sounded like he was done for good.

But the main problem is that ,if back in the time I used to play AH I was a terrible shoot, now it's even worse. I've missed straight shots on planes hanging on the prop and almost stopped in the sky.

AH1 used hit bubbles. I was regularly pinged by 50cal planes at 1k, and hispano armed planes at 1.2 (1.3 was the "safe" zone)

That's no longer the case. Luckily (much more realistially!!!!!) you can expect to get in to less than 400 yards for a decent hit, and 600 is really pushing it. Set your convergence to 350 and work for shots at that distance. You might eventually reduce it even more to fit your comfort zone.

thanks for the info, moot.

Krusty, I missed a corsair hanging on the prop, perfect plantform shot, firing a burst from 400 to 200 yards before pulling up. I didn't hit him at all.

I understand (and like) the change of hit modelling from hit bubbles to actual impacts on the plane, but this time I'm pretty sure it's not the game, it's that I SUCK!

lol
