Growed up in Slidell and a couple of years in Gretna while gettin a ship refit at Avondale.
Now, I ended up marrying a girl from Wisconsin, so here I sit in the frozen tundra.  I'll
get back home when the kids are out of school.  She makes me cook for her everyday,
but so do a lot of people up here.  Have pots will travel.

Born and raised 20 miles outside of New Orleans, been living in North Carolina for the past 20 years.   I miss  the food, people, hunting, fishing and heritage.    I don't miss the hurricanes (except the drink), heat, mosquitoes, and pollution (chemical plants along the Mississippi).    Of the 24 years living down there never been north passed Kentwood.   I never needed to go North had everything right there in the south: New Orleans, the swamps, and the Gulf of Mexico

I would like to move back down there to retire.   North Carolina is a nice place to live but it's being sold out to the yankees and getting over developed.

I'm a Yankee transplant.  Like JeepinAZ spent some time at Ft. Puke in the cav and ended up marrying a girl from Oberlin.  Stayed for her and the food.  That and I work with LCCajun, he got me to give up my warcrack addiction and introduced me to this one.
