My rifle, pony and me
« on: April 07, 2008, 06:44:17 AM »
Sun is sinking in the west
The cattle go down to the stream
The redwing settles in the nest
It's time for a cowboy to dream

Purple light in the canyon
that is where I long to be
With my three good companions
just my rifle pony and me

Gonna hang my sombrero
on the limb of a tree
Coming home sweet my darling
just my rifle pony and me

Whippoorwill in the willow
sings a sweet melody
Riding to Amarillo
just my rifle pony and me

No more cows to be ropin'
No more strays will I see
'round the bend shell be waitin
For my rifle pony and me
For my rifle my pony and me

No matter how many times I have seen Rio Bravo I still get a kick out of this movie.
A real western classic.
The Duke rules to this day.

Didn`t hurt any that is was followed with Blazing Saddles last night either. :)

I don`t think the cast could have been any better than what they picked for the movie. Even Nelson did a good job.
I also think that Walter Brennan`s role as "Stumpy" really made the movie zing.
He basicly used his character of Granpa McCoy and added a twist to fit the movie. Made for some very good humor.
