I actually took the time to go into my settings from the
"show new replies to your posts" option (at the top, next to your login information),
and deleted absolutely every thread (by opening and then closing it).

That way, when I log on, I only have a few threads in the queue instead of 30+ pages.
For some reason the little "new" icon bothered me, which I should have just optioned out of instead of opening & closing 30 pages worth of threads.

You do know that there is a "mark read" button that automatically "catches up" every thread, right?  It's oh so much easier than opening up a couple hundred threads...
