332nd FM VS LW in SE arena AAR

First off my sincere thanks to all who showed up to fly LW today. I realise it was short notice.

The Mongrels rolled several b26's from f3 to strike the HQ/refinery complexs near f9.

We had 4 p51's for esort.

Our fist sign of trouble was 2 109's & 2 190's screaming down on our high 6.
Beacause the buff box was fairly tight we both dealt & recieved damage. LW fighters eventually killed all bombers, (& all but 1 fighter).

We reformed again f3, rolled again in b26's, this time we though we'd try a low level run.
Let me tell you that flying a tight formation of b26's though those canyons is possibly the most intense experience I've ever had!

Forward visiblity was often limited, we are loaded to the max, flying on reduced throttle so that stragglers could join up. (35 inches)
at least twice we ran into a wall and had to choose right or left with no warning, (or time to look at map) We again had escorts at 10k which were quickly neutrilized.

This time at least a couple of bombers arrived over target. 4 died to the ack, (kills awared to glasses I believe).

At least some damage was done to oil refinery's.

In the future, would it be possible to suspend Radar every sunday????

Also the Ack makes a low level bomber run impossible. Is there any way we can tone that down?

If anyone is interested I have good camera footage of the first bomber flight where the LW decimated us. Drop me a line at
billj69@uswest.net if you'd like a copy.

Thanks again everyone!

Expect something similar next sunday 3:00 EST. Friends & foes always welcome.
Always expect a Axis Vs Allied setup.

Next weeks tenitive plan is for one flight of
b17's(Green Flight) With Red, blue,& purple flights in p38l's as escorts.

Last we will always adopt a 25k max alt for bombers. It seems only fair for both sides that way.

Good time had by all!

I don't know if any squads have the same squad time as we do, but if that is the case please let us know. We would love to set up some fun scenairos.  We fly em all, LW, IJN, British, American, Italian, Russian, you name it. As more fighters and bombers come into play you can expect to see the 332nd flying all of em.

Today was a success, but only because we had a good time.   Those flying for the LW really held us back. The first run never even made it to target. I think 2 escorts made it back. The second run had much greater success. Well at least several made it to the target. Damage was light though, the ack finished off those the LW did not.

If anyone wants to join or oppose us on any given Sunday let ghosth or I know. We already have a plan for 4/9/00.

Sorry I missed this one; time change and a "pre-existing malady" prevented my participation.

Hope to be in on the next one!
