Firefly was on Fox, I think.
But yeah, whoever's in charge at SciFi has their head up their ass. They canceled FarScape and then started BSG because they wanted a "Sexy, edgy, space adventure." WHICH THEY ALREADY HAD AND JUST CANCELED!!!! I got depressed watching Peacekeeper Wars. It was Season 5 condensed down into a 3hr movie, and I can only wonder just what the writers could have done with a full season.

Interestingly....
SciFi Channel at the time Lexx, FarScape and I-Man ended had just been bought out by Vivendi-Universal. During this period everything started going down-hill: Lexx and I-Man ended, the 24/7 StarGate reruns began, and the channel higher-ups started playing around with FarScape ("Make it more like South Park." "Make it more like SG-1." "It needs more sex!" "Season 4 has to unfold THIS way for new viewers (in the process throwing away the dramatic brilliance of the second half of Season 2 and virtually all of Season 3)." FarScape entered frequent mid-season hiatus with NO reruns whatsoever. Advertising was cut and time slots were changed). An emphasis was put on their horrific "originals." Science Fiction was pushed aside in favor of pseudo-science and paranormal bunk (Dream Team, etc).
Then consider this....
In its day, Sierra made some of the best games you could find. If it was by Sierra, you KNEW you were getting a quality title. Quest for Glory, King's Quest, the Dynamix sims (Aces of the Pacific is STILL the greatest air-combat simulation ever). Sierra was GOLD. Then they were bought out by....you guessed it....VIVENDI! Ken and Roberta Williams were fired. Quest for Glory V was rushed, incomplete and buggy just so they could kick it out the door (after almost never happening in the FIRST place). The last King's Quest (Mask of Eternity) was not only NOT a true KQ game, but a horrific mess besides. Aces of the Pacific II was killed on the drawing board. Aces: X-Planes (may have been similar to SWotL) followed after, Desert Fighters (WWII North Africa) was shut down early in production (I played an early Beta. It would have been QUITE good). Dynamix was outright closed. All production of Sierra Adventures stopped. Instead, their focus was turned towards Hoyle Classic Card Games, and Redneck Sports games (Professional BULL RIDING?! WTF!!!) and infinite Deer Hunter clones. Sierra became a sick cash cow being wrung out for all it was worth, until finally the doors were shut.
Two companies. Both bought out by Vivendi. Both of which soon began a rapid spiral into the sewer immediately after.
Coincidence? I think NOT!
